Jen Skiver Thompson, MS, CPDT-KA
Owner and Certified Dog Trainer
You have landed here at Canine the Great with a qualified, certified professional dog trainer recognized nationally through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers. I am a passionate advocate for reactive dogs and their humans, and am committed to science-based, force-free training methods. I believe that positive reinforcement is the key to growing a deep, trusting relationship with your dog. It would be my privilege to be your personal coach on your journey to build the connected relationship you seek with your dog.
In my off-time, I am a member of the King County Search Dogs team, working with my dogs Zula and Nelly on the trailing team. We are deployed together on search and rescue missions throughout Western Washington by the King County Sheriff's Office to help find and aid people in distress. This is particularly an accomplishment for Zula, who is an actively recovering Reactive Dog!
For my referral partners:
I am a certified dog trainer (CPDT-KA) with undergraduate and graduate-level training in animal behavior and physiology, which has deepened and enriched my skill sets in dog behavior and training. I am committed to force-free and positive reinforcement based training methods. I believe that continuing education is vital to staying up to date with the latest advancements in the field of dog training, and I pursue educational opportunities throughout the year. Rest assured that when you refer clients to Canine the Great, they will be supported by a professional who gets results using humane methods based on LIMA guidance that matches your training philosophy.
